Went to Georgia last weekend to play in a couple of D&D Minis tournaments. I got my ass spanked. I brought a knife to a gunfight. Well sorta…
I brought a warband designed to beat Lawful warbands which I expected to see a ton of in Georgia. Out of 20 players, there were 14 Lawful warbands. I thought I was going to be kicking ass and taking names. Somehow the pairings screwed me over, and I ended up playing 4 matches vs Chaotics and only two versus Lawfuls. I don’t know what kind of math would be required to figure that out, but let’s just say, I had a bad day at the office.
It’s probably all for the best. I couldn’t really justify going to GenCon this year with the move and everything. I thought that if I did well in Georgia I would be giving myself a reason to go, but the reality is that GenCon happens around my last week of work here in Orlando. Therefore, I’ll be in a sort of employment limbo. Without a job lined up, I simply can’t justify the extra expense.
On the plus side, I met another batch of great gamers this weekend. I also got to hang out with

Sorry to hear you did not kick ass much lawful bootay as you hoped, but sometimes even the best of us get boarded by the Imperials.
Not only did I get boarded, but I was made to walk the plank as well. 😉

If Lawfuls are winning, Chaotics are losing, and you start losing…you’re going to get paired with a lot of Chaotics. 😛
Tell me you weren’t playing Slaads…they’re terrible.
He was playing slaads, yes.
I was playing two Slaads, an Orc Champ and an MDP. 😉
