I’m back from the cruise! 🙂

On Tuesday evening somewhere between Roatan (an island off the coast of Honduras) and Belize I asked Liz an important question. I asked her if she would marry me and make an honest man out of me. 😉

We dined at one of the specialty restaurants aboard the ship. She had the lamb and I had the veal. After that fine meal we walked on the deck and talked about the winter solstice, the stars, the moon and the sun. I had yet to get my nerve up so I escorted her back to our stateroom and we continued our chat on the balcony overlooking the waves made by the ship as it sliced its way to Belize. At some point I asked her if she would like her Christmas present. She smiled and said yes. I asked her to stand and face the ocean with her eyes closed… and to step closer to the rail. She said she was scared. She must have thought I was going to throw her overboard. I wrapped my arms around her from behind and then raised my hand up with the ring resting in my palm. She opened her eyes and gasped her surprise. She was silent for a long time. She alternated between shocked and happy for the rest of the night. I think that was a good sign. When I finally asked her to marry me… she said yes. Now it was my turn to be shocked and happy. 😉

Pictures will come soon… I need to rest from my vacation first.
