I’m not one to post about my personal life very much… especially about those near and dear to me. As you may recall, I posted about a year ago that my mom was in chemo therapy for cancer. She originally had breast cancer, but it wormed its way into the rest of her body. She…
Gunnerkrigg Court
Scott McCloud pointed me to this webcomic by Tom Siddell. It’s sorta like Harry Potter, but the kids aren’t wizards in training. If you’re a fan of that series of books (of which I haven’t read a one, but have heard your recommendations), you should enjoy this series. Enjoy! http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/index2.php

That’s right Adobe, I’m talking about you! http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/imac-coreduo.ars/ –sam
Accents…
I was born in America, but my first language was Spanish (my mother is Dominican). When I was three, we moved to the Dominican Republic, but I eventually moved back to the States around my 6th birthday. I remember learning English and the extra thick accent I used to have. I’ve lost that accent entirely…
Nicknames…
Someone asked me today why my username for the vast majority of forums and websites was “lalato”. Well, that’s a good question, so here’s the answer. Lalato (pronounced LAH LAH tow) is my childhood nickname. It’s common in Brazilian families to give people nicknames. Many times the names are nonsense words, as in my name.…
