Hi gang…
There is a job opening in Atlanta for someone to do what I do in Orlando. 🙂
Here’s the job description…
Market Systems Analyst Atlanta CIRC 1415
The Atlanta (Norcross) office is seeking a Market Systems Analyst. Responsibilities include first-level hardware and software support and training to desktop and laptop users, serve as technical liaison between office and other systems departments, maintain hardware and software, including inventories and upgrades. Must posses a minimum of 2 years experience providing end user support and training. Experience with AS400, MS Office products, and Crystal Reports preferred. Four year degree in computer related concentration and A+ Certification is a plus.
I have no idea what the pay would be like for someone new to the position (I’ve been doing this at USA TODAY for seven years now so my concept of starting salaries is very different from current reality).
I thought I would throw it out there in case one of my peeps with the right skills needs a job. Keep in mind that having a four year degree in a computer related concentration and A+ is not necessary. I have a degree in English for Pete’s sake… and while I do have A+, I got it while on the job.
Anyway… let me know if any of you are interested. 🙂

So you are an Analyst too??!?
COOL!!!
😉
Jesse D.
I’m actually a step above that. My actual title is Regional Senior Systems Analyst. I do a lot of business analysis and whatnot. A lot of SQL… but my other duties include those listed in the post above. 🙂

e-mail me Katy’s cell phone number, foo!

I don’t have her new number. Sorry. 🙁

GAH!
Could I have Liz’s number so I can ask her for Katy’s number?
Jesse
If I wasn’t moving I’d make you take it!
Unfortunately, it would be a step down for me. I’m a step above that position where I’m at now.
However, depending on where you end up finding a job in academia, we may end up in the same city afterall. is currently looking at PhD programs in Counseling Psychology. Where she ends up is where I’ll end up so… you never know. 🙂

I guess we’ll have to wait and see. It’s the waiting part I’m getting sick of. I just want to call up every school I applied to and yell, “Just give me a yes or a no, dammit!”
